Plyboo
Stiletto is another floor from the makers of Plyboo. These floors are made of the same material as the strand bamboo floors with the added features of a brushed surface to help blend minor imperfections, low sheen finishes to absorb more light and allow the floor to show more color, and stained colors that give you more decorating choices. Stiletto floors have click lock, interlocking boards for floating installations. As the name portrays, you can dance on this floor and it still looks great!
Flat Grain Bamboo Flooring and Edge Grain Bamboo Flooring are constructed of bamboo strips that start our measuring approximately ¼” thick by 7/8” wide. Bamboo is a grass and these strips have long fibers extending the full length of each board. These strips are bonded together in different ways to create different grain patterns and looks on the surface. If the wide side of the strip is showing on the surface, it is called flat or horizontal grain and if the thin side of the strip is showing on the surface, it is called edge or vertical grain. Both the flat gain and edge grain bamboo flooring are available in the natural color, a yellow tone, and the amber tone also referred to as caramelized or carbonized bamboo. Floors are commonly compared using the Janka ball test that measures the amount of pressure (lbf) required to dent the surface of the flooring material. The lighter, natural color edge grain and flat grain bamboo floors test at 1700-1800, the amber color edge grain and flat grain bamboo floors test at 1300 to 1400. Plyboo bamboo floors are available with no added urea formaldehyde; if you have environmental concerns, we recommend that you verify this content before purchasing any bamboo floor.
Plyboo
Strand Bamboo Floors are known for their outstanding durability and wood-like appearance. These floors are made of compressed strands of bamboo fiber bonded together with a phenolic resin and have no added urea formaldehyde. These floors come in a rich, dark brown called Plyboo Havana, a warm golden hue called Plyboo Sahara and a randomly striped mix of the two called Plyboo Neopolitan. The janka ball rating for this type of bamboo floor averages over 3000, making it an excellent choice in areas of high traffic in residential and commercial settings
Palm floors are made of strips of palm wood cut from the trunks of coconut palm and sugar palm trees that have aged beyond their fruit bearing years. The unique grain of the palms and deep, rich browns give it the ability to blend with many other woods in a room. Palm floors are available in edge grain, having multiple shades in thin strips across the surface, in wide edge grain with wide strips on the surface and flat grain, showing a single strip of wood on the surface of each board. Palm floors are also available with dark stains or can be ordered unfinished to allow staining and finishing in place. Palm floors average 1470 when tested for hardness.
